Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
New reports suggest that Crystal Palace are one of the sides interested in signing Timothy Castagne and the player fancies a move away from his current club.
That’s according to The Evening Standard.
So, what’s the latest on Timothy Castagne? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
According to The Evening Standard, Crystal Palace, as well as fellow Premier League side Fulham, are interested in making a move for the player this summer.
The report goes on to say that the defender is ‘keen to leave’ recently relegated Leicester City during the summer transfer window.
Bournemouth are currently monitoring the player. Apparently, Castagne would like to return to the Premier League as soon as possible.
The report claims that Palace’s interest being made into a bid depends on whether they can sell some players. Leicester are hoping to hold out for a substantial fee.
Crystal Palace are crying out for a player like Castagne
The Belgian international, who plays at right-back, would be the exact type of player to help improve the Eagles and help us challenge for a top half finish.
Crystal Palace currently have two ageing right-backs at the club and they need a progressive full-back who can also defend and attack.
Castagne fits this profile of a modern full-back perfectly. It would add another dynamic to Palace’s attack if they were to sign a right-back like Castagne.
The 27 year-old is versatile as he has also played as a right-winger and as a left-back. It’s always great to have a versatile player in the squad.
Earlier this transfer window, Fabrizio Romano reported that Leicester would want around £13million for the defender this summer.
If the Eagles want to push on, they need to just strengthen in the couple of positions that are lacking Premier League quality at this current time. Right-back is one of the positions that definitely needs sorting.
