Dean Henderson is the only Crystal Palace player involved with England at the World Cup.
The goalkeeper is one of 12 Crystal Palace players participating in the tournament – which is set to secure at least £2m for the Eagles – but the only member of the England squad after Adam Wharton was bizarrely overlooked in favour of Jordan Henderson.
Crystal Palace fans are unlikely to see the 29-year-old play unless Jordan Pickford and James Trafford suddenly become unavailable, but an image has now emerged of Henderson in training and a tiny detail will surely put a smile on the faces of supporters.
Initial thoughts on Pierre Sage? 🤔
He can boast a 67.5% win ratio from 40 games at RC Lens 😍
FA Cup tattoo spotted on Dean Henderson in England training
The Crystal Palace No.1 took part in some cricket as the England players enjoyed a bit of leisure time while at their World Cup camp.
An image has appeared of Henderson bowling, and at the top of his outstretched arm, a tattoo can be seen depicting the FA Cup trophy.
Clearly, that 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley last summer meant a lot to the former Manchester United goalkeeper, having opted to get a memory of the historic occasion inked on his skin forever.
We wonder if Henderson will get a tattoo of the UEFA Conference League trophy once he returns from the World Cup later this summer – a choice many Crystal Palace fans have already swiftly made since returning from Leipzig judging by social media.
The man born in Whitehaven endured a difficult start at Crystal Palace following his £20m move from Manchester United in August 2023 – with many fans disgruntled at that use of significant funds considering Sam Johnstone was already at Selhurst Park and we badly needed a striker.
Where do you think we can finish in the UEFA Europa League next season after victory in Leipzig? 🤔
If Nottingham Forest can reach the last four while in a relegation battle, surely we can at least make the final? 👀
However, it has proven to be a masterstroke of a signing. Henderson has embraced what it means to play for Crystal Palace, and at this moment in time, has to be considered as the greatest goalkeeper in our history after playing a key role in winning three trophies.
