Crystal Palace should attempt to sign Championship star available in cheap deal - Our View

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Crystal Palace should be attempting to try and sign Championship star Max Aarons as they look to improve their squad for next season.

The English defender has been recently linked with a move to a fellow Premier League club. The reported price they can sign him for is not very expensive either.

Crystal Palace are still without a manager and the future of Wilfried Zaha is still unknown. Despite this, there is still some great talent available this summer that any club would be lucky to have.

What’s the story?

The Telegraph has claimed that Fulham are now weighing up a bid for Norwich right-back Max Aarons. The report goes on to suggest that that the player could move for a move worth around £10million.

Other reports from The Athletic have claimed that Aarons is ready to leave Norwich this summer. The defender has been at the club since joining the academy and is a fan-favourite in Norwich.

Now, with Norwich not in the Premier League for two years, Aarons apparently wants to move to a top-flight club to match his aspirations. In the past, the 23 year-old reports from 90min linked with top clubs including Tottenham.

Crystal Palace should attempt to sign Max Aarons

Max Aarons is still young but has no doubt had a very good career so far. Since being promoted from the Norwich academy to the senior squad, Aarons has won the Championship twice and won the English Football League Young Player of the Year award.

He has made 213 senior appearances and featured 23 times for the England U21 side. During his club matches he scored six and assisted 17 times. 70 of these appearances have come in the Premier League. Aarons is known as an attacking full-back who can also defend.

His quality in attack has been proven by the fact that he has also been trusted with playing as a right-midfielder on occasions.

Crystal Palace currently have 33 year-old Joel Ward and 32 year-old Nathaniel Clyne as their full-backs. They have been good servants for the club, especially Ward who is no doubt a Palace legend. Despite this, their quality as a top-flight player is not good enough if Palace want to push on.

Ward, who is seen as the number one choice at right-back for Palace, does not attack. This is something that is massively important in the modern game.

The “unbelievable” talent is still only 23. He has top-flight qualities and has the potential to grow even more as a player. For £10million, he seems like a bargain. The Eagles should be all-over this type of signing. It fits their criteria of buying young stars and it would improve their first team.
