Crystal Palace have been handed a boost over their pursuit of one player this summer, he’s expected to leave his club.

Oliver Glasner has been the manager at Selhurst Park for well over a month now, and he’ll be becoming increasingly aware of how much work his Crystal Palace side needs.

After a terrific start, which actually gave us all false expectations, the club are firmly back on earth now winless in four and in desperate need of the summer to arrive.

This summer, we expect, will see multiple players arrive through the doors at Copers Cope.

Players who fit into Glasner’s plans and can fit his tactics better than what he currently has to deal with.

Here’s what’s happened now as Palace are handed a boost in their pursuit of one player.

Crystal Palace handed a boost in Samuel Iling-Junior pursuit

As Palace prepare for a busy summer by creating a pretty long list of transfer targets in priority positions.

On this list, seems to be Samuel Iling-Junior, who has been a Palace target over the past few months, and now they’ve been handed a boost.

The boost comes from a report by Dean Jones and Sports Lens, which explains that Iling-Junior is on Juventus’ list of potential outgoings this summer.

A former youth prospect of Chelsea, Iling-Junior is expected to leave for as little as £13m this summer which could turn out to be a steal.

In the report, while Palace isn’t mentioned, we can see that if Palace does still hold an interest, it’ll be a race to sign him, with Spurs, Newcastle, Brighton and Everton all holding an interest.

Samuel Iling-Junior 2023/24 stats

This season has seen Iling-Junior kick on as a player at Juventus, grabbing regular minutes and even contributing.

He’s played 21 games this campaign and scored once with two assists, all for a fairly poor Juventus side.

Here are his stats from this season, as per FotMob.

Iling-Junior has played as a left midfielder this season, which has us thinking he could actually be perfect for the left-wing-back role at Palace, replacing Tyrick Mitchell.

This may be where Glasner identifies him fitting in, as he isn’t exactly suited to the inside forward role.
