Crystal Palace battling rivals to sign £35k-a-week star

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Crystal Palace are one of many clubs interested in making a move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles during the summer transfer window.

That’s according to fussballtransfers.

So, what’s the latest on Maitland-Niles? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

According to fussballtransfers, four Premier League sides are wanting to sign the player. He is available on a free transfer as his contract with Arsenal has now expired.

The reported clubs interested are Everton, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and West Ham. They have all apparently made contact with the Englishman.

The player is also picking up interest from abroad as well. He was most recently on loan at Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League.

It is not known which club Maitland-Niles currently favours. With him out of contract, he will have the final decision on where he ends up.

Signing Maitland-Niles would be good news for Crystal Palace

Maitland-Niles would be a very good signing. He may not be a player who features all the time or is a key star, but he adds quality and squad depth to the Eagles.

The £35,000-a-week right-back, who can also play on the wing and in midfield, is very versatile. This is why he would be a good signing for the club.

Palace definitely need to add some quality to the side and Maitland-Niles on a free transfer looks like a great coup for the club.

With the Englishman having experience at a top club and also being a solid Premier League player, there seems to be no risk to the deal.

Palace will not spend big this summer, as they typically do not unless it is absolutely necessary. Due to this, picking up free transfers seems like a no-brainer.
