Crystal Palace are now considering a move to sign a player who suffered relegation last season.
While that might be off-putting to some fans, there is often huge value in that market, with Liverpool previously signing the likes of Andy Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri from Hull and Stoke respectively, after they were relegated.
So, who have Crystal Palace now shortlisted? Let’s take a look…
Crystal Palace eye Jacob Bruun Larsen
A story from Kicker in Germany now states that Crystal Palace are interested in Jacob Bruun Larsen.
The Denmark international – who spent this summer with Joachim Andersen at UEFA Euro 2024 – was on loan at Burnley last season, scoring six goals in 32 Premier League appearances under Vincent Kompany.
However, Larsen could not prevent the Clarets from dropping into the Championship, and he has since returned to TSG Hoffenheim – who are open to a permanent sale this summer.

Kicker believe the Bundesliga outfit want €8.5m (£7m) to sell the Dane, with West Ham and Fulham also showing interest.
Denmark international could be an effective option under Oliver Glasner
Nobody is going to be getting too excited about signing a relegated player after the blow of losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich in a £50.8m deal.
However – for just £7m – Larsen could become an effective option under Oliver Glasner, mainly due to the fact he can play pretty much anywhere across the frontline.
The man from Lyngby made ten appearances on the left for Burnley last season, as well as eight on the right and three as a central striker, so his versatility is a very attractive trait.

Larsen is also just 25 years of age, so Dougie Freedman could probably make that £7m back later down the line if this deal fails to work out.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as talks are also being held to sign a player Crystal Palace bid £25m for back in 2020…
