Crystal Palace now want to sign "sensational" £1m man after he was relegated

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Crystal Palace now want to sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League.

That is according to The Athletic.

However, Crystal Palace aren’t the only side keen to sign the Dutch wonderkid.

What’s the story?

Well, The Athletic mention that Bournemouth are also hoping to sign Summerville.

The Leeds No.10 – who Marcelo Bielsa signed from Feyenoord in a £1.3m deal back in September 2020 – enjoyed something of a breakthrough season in the 2022/23 campaign despite going down with Leeds.

Summerville scored four goals and provided two assists in 28 Premier League appearances, including a 90th minute winner against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Athletic state that Leeds could be willing to listen to offers for the Netherlands Under-21 international this summer purely due to their need to raise some cash following relegation.

Summerville is tied down to a contract running until June 2026 at Elland Road, so Dougie Freedman should expect to pay far more than the £1.3m Leeds initially invested if he is serious about signing the talented winger.

Summerville would thrive at Crystal Palace

In our view, Selhurst Park – where flair players are celebrated and not moaned at – is the perfect destination for Summerville.

The Rotterdam-born wonderkid, who was described as “sensational” by Andrew Taylor, the Under-23 coach at Leeds, still has some rough edges to his game.

However, there is an encouraging focus on developing young talent at Crystal Palace right now, with precocious gems learning how to become better all-round footballers by improving the defensive side of their game, just like Michael Olise has done in SE25.

If we can get this deal over the line, our attack would become even more exciting next season.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Leeds seem open to selling Summerville if they receive a respectable bid.
