Manager has now told £10,000-a-week player he can join Crystal Palace, deal could be done this week

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Mauricio Pochettino has now given Lewis Hall permission to join Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea for the 2023/24 campaign.

That is according to Football Insider.

So, what is the latest on Lewis Hall and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it looks as if we’re about to get our annual loan from Chelsea, having previously welcomed the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Patrick Bamford, Loic Remy and Michy Batshuayi to Selhurst Park.

Football Insider believe negotiations over a season-long loan deal involving Hall are progressing well between Chelsea and Crystal Palace, with an agreement expected to be found in the coming days.

Pochettino has given the green light to the move after deciding that the England Under-19 international was not in his plans for the 2023/24 campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea – however – have no intention of allowing the £10,000-a-week Hall to leave on a permanent basis, and are refusing to include an option to buy in the conditions of the deal.

The Slough-born wonderkid made nine Premier League appearances for the Blues last season, and was actually one of Chelsea’s few bright lights in what was ultimately a terrible season.

Crystal Palace must try to negotiate option to buy in Lewis Hall deal

In our view, we need to get an option to buy agreed in this deal.

Hall looks to be a superb talent who is capable of doing exactly what Gallagher did in south London – we wouldn’t be surprised whatsoever if he returned to west London as a £50m talent with a few England caps under his belt.

If the season-long loan goes to plan, we expect the left-back to become a household name like Gallagher developed into, leaving us no chance to sign him permanently unless we offered silly money.

Therefore, we must pull out all the stops to try and get a fixed purchase option – for example, Chelsea’s interest in Michael Olise could be used to our advantage in that respect, if it becomes clear we have no chance of keeping the winger out of Pochettino’s grasp.

Be sure to keep an eye out for more developments, as talks between Crystal Palace and Chelsea continue.
