Crystal Palace and PSG are currently in discussions about Randal Kolo Muani.

Foot Mercato in France believe the UEFA Champions League winners have opened talks with the UEFA Conference League winners about the France international, after it became apparent Juventus were unable to pay the €40m (£34m) asking price.

The French news outlet add that Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa are also expressing interest in the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker – who prefers a move to Juventus, but the Italian giants cannot pay the fee.

So, who is Kolo Muani? Let’s take a look.

Who is your DREAM signing? ⭐️

We initially doubted this rumour given the presence of Jorgen Strand Larsen and Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park, meaning Pierre Sage would be unlikely to sign a third striker.

However, Mateta’s representatives want to arrange a transfer – according to the Daily Mail – and the former Lyon man has already entered the final 12 months of his contract, so Kolo Muani could well be his replacement.

The man born in Bondy was once amongst the most feared strikers on the planet, earning a £76.4m move to PSG in September 2023 after netting 26 goals and providing 17 assists in 50 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt. All but three of those goals came in his 46 appearances under Oliver Glasner in Germany.

Kolo Muani has since struggled to hit the same heights, scoring only 11 goals in 54 games for PSG and also failing miserably on loan at Tottenham last season, where he bagged just five goals in 41 appearances and Spurs nearly suffered relegation.

The only glimpse of promise from the 27-year-old came during a loan spell at Juventus in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, where he scored ten goals in 22 games.

With PSG now trying to recoup £34m of the £76.4m they spent on Kolo Muani – who is under contract until July 2028 – it feels like Crystal Palace could put those funds to better use.

Signing the France international after his miserable stint in the Premier League last term would undoubtedly be a gamble.

However, when you consider Sage transformed Odsonne Edouard into one of the most lethal strikers in France last season, the Eagles might feel it is a risk worth taking.
