Crystal Palace have been linked with manager Steve Cooper recently and there is one big reason as to why he could be an ideal managerial appointment.
The Eagles have lost four of their last five games.
So, why could Steve Cooper be an ideal replacement for Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

New reports this week coming out from The Telegraph suggested that Hodgson is under some pressure at Palace following the poor run of form.
Other reports surfaced at a similar time from talkSPORT suggesting that Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish is a long-term admirer of Steve Cooper.
With Hodgson under pressure, it is hard to see him receiving a new contract when his current one expires at the end of this season.
There is one reason why Cooper could be an ideal replacement, be it during this current season or if it was in the summer.
Why Steve Cooper could be a good Roy Hodgson replacement at Crystal Palace
There is no doubting that Cooper has done a great job with Nottingham Forest since he became their manager in the Championship.
They were a relegation battling side and he took them to promotion and has now kept the club in the Premier League.
He has struggled to push on with them; however, he looks to be a manager who could build well when given time. Current Palace assistant manager Paddy McCarthy has also been linked with the job; but Cooper would be a much safer option.
These performances are showing that he is a good manager; however, there is one other reason that makes him an ideal Roy Hodgson replacement.
The 43 year-old manager coached the England U16s and U17s and helped the latter win the U17 World Cup back in 2016/17.
He would obviously need signings for the present but Cooper has worked with youth and this could see him give more players in the Palace academy a chance at a senior level.
The Eagles have a thriving academy with top talents and they won’t all make it, but they do need to be given more of a pathway to the first-team. This is something that we do not currently have under Hodgson. Cooper would be able to bring some good quality to the first-team but also help our younger talents.
