SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
According to The Athletic, Mamadou Sakho and Roy Hodgson have clashed at Crystal Palace.
The report also states that Sam Allardyce is interested in being reunited with the Frenchman, who he signed on loan for the Eagles in 2017.
However, it is said that the south Londoners have no interest in doing the Baggies any favours.
A move would require West Brom to pay a substantial loan fee and contribute to most of Sakho’s six-figure weekly wages.
According to Spotrac, the 30-year-old earns £100,000-a-week.
In our view, the Selhurst Park faithful may not see Sakho again.
Why? Well, ignoring the fact that COVID-19 means fans can’t attend anyway, the former Paris Saint-Germain’s contract expires in June.
Currently, he can’t get himself in Hodgson’s XI, nor has he been able to stay fit when he has been given a run in the side.
In our view, it feels unlikely that Steve Parish will want to renew Sakho’s contract, given his astronomical wages and bit-part squad role.
In that respect, the ex-Liverpool man could either depart next month in order for the Eagles to recoup a fee, or he may leave for nothing in June.
Whatever happens, the signs are ominous from where we stand.
