England are nearing a return to tournament action in the 2024 Euros, where a number of Crystal Palace stars could be involved.
The 2024 European Championships are just around the corner and for the England men’s national team, it represents a chance to earn silverware. The Three Lions came close last time out, reaching the final but losing on penalties to Italy.
A lot has changed in the years since, with fresh faces making their way into the squad and announcing themselves on the world stage. There’s a decent chance some of those that make the squad will represent Crystal Palace on the European stage too.
From England regulars to promising options, the Eagles could fly the flag of both club and country this summer. So with that said, here’s a look at four Crystal Palace stars that Gareth Southgate must call up to his Euros squad.
England Euros 2024 squad
Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi has been something of a stalwart for England since receiving his first call to the senior team. The defender has received nine caps for the Three Lions and at just 23-years-old, looks set to be a future starter for the national team.
A knee injury has kept Guehi out of action for Crystal Palace lately, but there is hope that he will return soon. At the European Championships, he could once again display exactly why he is so highly rated, if called upon.
Sam Johnstone
Sam Johnstone is another England regular at this point, often finding his way into the squad amongst the goalkeeping ranks. The shotstopper has impressed at Crystal Palace in being able to earn his first-team shirt back off of Dean Henderson, following a calf injury this season.
Johnstone is likely to play as a backup to Jordan Pickford, but should Southgate change his mind, the Crystal Palace star should be available for the Euros.
Tyrick Mitchell
With injury problems at left-back, England could be looking at adding a solid option to bolster the squad. Crystal Palace star Tyrick Mitchell should be one on Southgate’s radar for the European Championship tournament.
The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Eagles and already has two England caps to his name as well. An appearance this summer could help cement his place in the Three Lions squad going forward as well as increasing his profile.
Eberechi Eze
Eberechi Eze has suffered with injuries this season, but a strong end to the campaign could see him work his way back into the England setup. The forward has already earned two caps for the national team, with his last appearance coming in the September 2023 international break.
The quality Eze has on the ball is clear to see, it will just require some form to ideally put himself back into the squad picture.
