Conor Gallagher has struggled to hit the heights of his loan spell at Crystal Palace since returning to English football with Tottenham in January.
The England international failed to win over Spurs fans in the second half of last season following a £34.6m move from Atletico Madrid, as the north Londoners avoided relegation by a whisker on the final day.
There has been plenty of change since Gallagher made that move, with Roberto De Zerbi replacing Thomas Frank, while a fortune has been spent on a midfield overhaul.
As Crystal Palace search for a new central midfielder for Pierre Sage, a deal for the former Chelsea star could be on after tentative interest from the Eagles in January.
Would YOU have Conor Gallagher back at Crystal Palace? 🤔
He was absolutely sensational in that 2021/22 campaign ⭐️
Crystal Palace may have success with a bid for Conor Gallagher
The Athletic claimed in August 2025 that Crystal Palace wanted to bring the 26-year-old back to Selhurst Park.
We Are Palace understand the interest in Gallagher carried on into January as the man from Epsom struggled for playing time under Diego Simeone, but it was Tottenham who secured his signature.
Now, however, Spurs have just spent £85m on Mateus Fernandes and another £100m on Sandro Tonali to revamp the midfield for De Zerbi – who was clearly unhappy with the state of the options he inherited from Frank.

Therefore, with Crystal Palace hunting for a new central midfielder this summer, we feel the Eagles could be successful if a respectable offer is made for Gallagher.
Tottenham may even actively look to sell to balance the books, after that remarkable £185m outlay on Fernandes and Tonali.
Gallagher presumably would have wanted to become more of a central figure at Tottenham having only arrived a matter of months ago, but his previous comments about Crystal Palace make us feel he would have no qualms about returning if Spurs do opt to push him out.
After winning the Player of the Season award at Crystal Palace for the 2021/22 campaign as his loan spell came to an end, the Englishman spoke fondly of the Eagles and said: “From the first day I walked into Palace, everyone involved was so welcoming and made me feel at home.
“I loved it. I think you could see that on the pitch, overall it was an amazing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Who is your DREAM signing? ⭐️
So, if Crystal Palace offer Gallagher an escape route out of Tottenham this summer after Fernandes and Tonali shoved him down the pecking order, it would not surprise us one bit to see a deal materialise.
