BBC journalist noticed Zaha do something 'weird' after Crystal Palace's 1-0 win

SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP

After Simon Hooper blew for full-time in Crystal Palace’s 1-0 win over West Brom earlier, Wilfried Zaha was spotted doing something odd.

The Ivory Coast international simply headed straight down the tunnel, without talking to anyone, nor did he shake hands with any other player.

The BBC’s Nick Godwin was the man who spotted the ‘weird’ incident, and he took to Twitter to inform his thousands of followers about it.

While it was fairly antisocial behaviour, we don’t blame Zaha for doing it.

He’d just spent 90 minutes being kicked around by the West Brom players, after all.

The former Manchester United man was also fouled on six occasions, according to WhoScored, more than any other player.

Additionally, the 28-year-old had also just spent 90 minutes being starved of the ball.

As a supporter, we watch the Palace No.11 more than most, and he does seem more irate than he used to be – we think it’s because of Roy Hodgson’s style of play.

We say that because he’s always been kicked around, but he hasn’t always played in such a negative system like he’s in now.

At 28, Zaha is in his peak, and we feel like that peak is being seriously wasted right now – he’s probably thinking the same thing.

If a new manager comes in ahead of next season, and gets us – and more importantly, Zaha – playing slick, attacking football, it will be interesting to see if his demeanour on the pitch changes.

For now, we sympathise with him – he’s a Ferrari being driven like a Fiat.
