Crystal Palace have now booked a spot in the last four of the UEFA Conference League after overcoming Fiorentina across two legs.

Oliver Glasner secured a 4-2 win over the Italian side on aggregate to set up a semi-final clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, with the potentially decisive second leg being played at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace fans can now start to genuinely dream of European success for the first time, but before any semi-final action even begins, UEFA have paid out a handsome sum of prize money for the win over Fiorentina.

UEFA hand Crystal Palace £2.11m after Fiorentina win

Crystal Palace earned £1.1m for reaching the quarter-final stage, and that sum has almost doubled after Glasner guided the Eagles to the last four.

A sum of £2.11m has been sent to Selhurst Park by UEFA following victory in Florence, and a chunk of at least £3.37m awaits if Crystal Palace can reach the final in Leipzig.

That is not a great deal of cash in modern football, in all honesty. It is only just enough to pay the weekly wage bill at Crystal Palace, which Capology believe is roughly a £1.5m sum.

Nevertheless, it is simply a nice bonus for reaching the semi-final stage, and more significant payments will await if we can win the UEFA Conference League, given the fact such an achievement would also land us a spot in the UEFA Europa League for next season.

As Parish attempts to hire Andoni Iraola in the background while Glasner steers Crystal Palace closer to a third trophy in just two seasons, the Eagles are enjoying a truly special period.
