Former Brighton and Crystal Palace forward Glenn Murray has lauded one player who has impressed on Thursday night.

Crystal Palace welcomed arch-rivals Brighton to Selhurst Park on Thursday night as a familiar scoreline occurred.

The spoils were shared as once again the rivals played out a 1-1 in the Premier League at Selhurst Park for the fifth time in a row.

It was a tale of two halves as Palace were on top in the first half and went into halftime at 1-0 thanks to Jordan Ayew‘s goal.

But in the second half, Brighton were the better side and eventually got their equaliser through Danny Welbeck.

There was one moment of real class by Palace and the orchestrator of that moment has now been lauded by former Palace men Glenn Murray and Jobi McAnuff.

Glenn Murray praises Michael Olise

After the game, Michael Olise was the recipient of praise from two former Palace players as they raved over the Frenchman.

Speaking after the game on Sky Sports, Murray labelled Olise a ‘class above’ anyone else at Palace alongside Eberechi Eze.

Before he then added: “He’s definitely one that plays the game beautifully, he’s got a lovely balance and poise about him as an athlete…This is what he’s good at [his assist], and this is what he wants to do. He wants to be creating when he gets those chances.”

Alongside Murray, McAnuff was also full of praise for the £100k-a-week man as he heralded he games stand out player.

“I thought he was fantastic today and it’s not easy when you’re playing for a team that defends as deep as Palace do at times and you are a wide man…

“His little touches, just the way that he receives the ball always aware of where the opposition is… flicks tricks but also did that work defensively and he just glides over the pitch…

“Just the way he carries the ball, decision making again for me is always very, very good, enjoyed watching him tonight.”

Olise stats vs Brighton

Olise not only passes the eye test, but his stats demonstrate how good he was too. On SofaScore he received a 7.6 rating out of 10 which was well deserved.

The wideman had 66 touches and made four key passes in the game for Palace – one of which resulting in a goal.

He also won six duels and completed two successful dribbles which again is very impressive.

Yet another top display from our number seven – although he is no doubt getting frustrated.
