It’s the international break for some but for others, it’s just another weekend. This is the case for some Crystal Palace loanees in the EFL.
Some Crystal Palace players will be at Copers Cope this weekend, while others are with their nations on international duty.
There are actually several Palace players in international action this weekend and early next week for Oliver Glasner to keep his eyes on.
But for some who are on loan in the EFL away from Selhurst Park this season, it’s just another weekend.
Two youngsters, in particular, have been in action on Saturday for their respective loan sides, let’s see how they’ve got on…
Owen Goodman – Colchester United
The 20-year-old goalkeeper had an excellent afternoon in the net for Colchester United where he was named Man of the Match with his five-save display.
He prevented a whopping 1.82 goals according to FotMob, as he made four saves inside the box which handed Colchester a massive point in the fight against relegation this season.
The point moved the young Palace keeper’s side a point above Sutton United and Forest Green who currently occupy the relegation zone, while holding three games in hand which could be a deciding factor in the relegation race.
John-Kymani Gordon – AFC Wimbledon
The second Palace loanee who was in action on Saturday for his side was also very impressive, it was John-Kymani Gordon who’s at AFC Wimbledon.
The 21-year-old Palace prospect scored his first goal for his side and it came just two minutes into the game on Saturday afternoon, although was ultimately only enough for a 1-1 draw.
Despite the draw against fellow playoff hopefuls Crewe being disappointing, it does see Wimbledon now just a point off a playoff spot.
