Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
The latest reports are suggesting that one Crystal Palace defender is attracting loan interest this summer transfer window.
That’s according to Kicker.
So, what’s the latest on possible outgoings at Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
According to German publication Kicker, Bundesliga side Stuttgart need a replacement for Konstantinos Mavropanos. This has led them to turn their attention to Palace centre-back Chris Richards.
Apparently, the German club believe that Richards doesn’t have much of a future at Palace. The report goes on to say that the Eagles are also willing to allow the USA international to head out on loan.
With Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen ahead of him in the pecking order, Richards faces a lot of competition.
Despite this, he has never complained and has looked like a very good defender when needed to come into the team.
Palace should be keeping Richards this summer
We have seen Richards come into the starting XI on multiple occasions last season either due to injuries of suspensions.
Although he only made nine appearances last season, he is much-needed cover in a team lacking depth. Therefore the club should be doing everything to keep him.
More so, Richards is only 23 years-old and has bags of potential. With reports suggesting that Guehi and Andersen are attracting a lot of interest from other clubs, it definitely seems more sensible to keep him.
Palace don’t have enough squad depth and if they want to challenge for top half they need to make sure they have a top squad.
The teams around them are strengthening and lots of clubs feel like they can finish in the top half this season.
It is a big summer for Palace and hopefully they add some more signings and do not lose any key players this transfer window.
