Roy Hodgson could now make history when Crystal Palace take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Eagles return to Old Trafford for another meeting with the Red Devils after Tuesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Erik ten Hag’s side.

What’s the story?
Well, the 76-year-old would become the first manager to go five Premier League games unbeaten at Old Trafford if his Crystal Palace side avoid defeat on Saturday.
That is according to beIN SPORTS.
Hodgson’s last visit to Old Trafford in the Premier League actually came when he was in charge of Watford, earning a 0-0 draw back in February 2022.
Before that, the £86,538-a-week man recorded a 3-1 win over Manchester United with his Crystal Palace side back in September 2020, where a goal from Andros Townsend and a double from Wilfried Zaha secured all three points.
Prior to that win, Hodgson steered us to a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford, thanks to a late winner from Patrick van Aanholt after Jordan Ayew made it 1-0 in the first half.
That came after a 0-0 draw between Manchester United and Crystal Palace in November 2018.
Therefore, if Hodgson can avoid a defeat on Saturday, he would do something no other manager in history has achieved, which would be quite special.

Getting a result at Old Trafford would be hard enough if we had our best players available.
However, Hodgson must attempt to get something against Ten Hag’s side in the absence of Michael Olise, Matheus Franca, Odsonne Edouard, Naouirou Ahamada, Dean Henderson, James Tomkins and potentially Jefferson Lerma as well.
The injuries are piling up for Crystal Palace, so it will be a huge game for the likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta and Will Hughes, who are set to start in the absence of Edouard and Lerma respectively.
Hopefully – despite the many absences – we can ensure Hodgson makes history on Saturday.
