The situation involving Andoni Iraola and Crystal Palace seems to be advancing quickly.

What seemed nothing more than a hopeful move from Steve Parish appears to be materialising into a concrete swoop for one of the most talented coaches in the Premier League, who currently has Bournemouth on a 15-game unbeaten run.

The BBC and respected Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto now have two interesting updates on Iraola for Crystal Palace fans to digest.

Who do YOU want as the next Crystal Palace boss? 🤔

Andoni Iraola “not ruling out” Crystal Palace move as contract offer sent

The BBC believe the 43-year-old has spoken to the Eagles, and is “not ruling out” a move to Selhurst Park when he leaves Bournemouth at the end of the season.

Iraola is open to staying in the Premier League – the Telegraph specifically say he wants to live in London – and is currently top of the list of options to replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace.

The aforementioned Moretto has delivered slightly more exciting news.

He states that Iraola is “very attracted” to the project at Selhurst Park, and “seems very willing” to accept the “considerable” contract offer Parish has put on the table.

It all seems to be moving in the right direction.

The BBC add that Crystal Palace remain confident of hiring an “accomplished head coach” if the pursuit of Iraola – who Chelsea like – were to collapse, but hope to have an appointment wrapped up as soon as possible ahead of a busy summer.

Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma, Nathaniel Clyne and Kaden Rodney are all out of contract, while Adam Wharton could leave for Liverpool and AC Milan may resurrect their winter interest in Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Middlesbrough No.7 Hayden Hackney is being targeted to beef up the midfield department.

Who is your DREAM signing? ⭐️

Crystal Palace may also have UEFA Europa League football to prepare for should Rayo Vallecano be defeated in the UEFA Conference League final, so it is necessary for Parish to find a new manager sooner rather than later.
