Marc Guehi has picked up two awards at Crystal Palace for the month of August.
The England international was named Player of the Month after helping the Eagles avoid defeat in six games across all competitions throughout August, including a win over Liverpool in the FA Community Shield and qualification for the UEFA Conference League.

Crystal Palace kept four clean sheets in these six outings, and the man born in Abidjan even won the Goal of the Month award as well for a stunning strike in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
As Marc Guehi spoke to Palace TV to accept his awards, Chris Richards seemed to make a reference to the dramatic summer transfer saga involving Liverpool.
Chris Richards makes “statement” comment towards Marc Guehi
The Guardian released a story shortly after the 25-year-old saw his deadline day move to Anfield collapse, claiming that he was set to release a statement shortly to express his anger at the situation.
However, no such statement ever arrived, and Guehi has seemed nothing but happy since the transfer window closed.
Richards appeared to reference this situation as he walked past, saying: “Goal of the month from a centre-half? Big statement right there.”
It was met with a smirk from Guehi – who Thomas Tuchel admires – in response, so perhaps the squad have made it something of an inside joke around Copers Cope.

Towards the end of the interview, Guehi is told he can put his trophies “on the mantlepiece” and enjoy looking at them, to which he replied: “Yeah, there’s not much on there! But thank you very much.”
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment from the ambitious Crystal Palace captain, but the manner in which he said it suggests he wants to win much more silverware than he already has.
It gives some insight into why Guehi is refusing to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park, as clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are in the queue to take him on a free transfer when the 2025/26 campaign ends.
