Crystal Palace are ‘big admirers’ of under pressure Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, according to reports.
Roy Hodgson has not had the best of starts to his season for Crystal Palace and the Eagles are currently sat in mid-table obscurity.
After the Eagles’ 2-1 defeat to Rob Edwards’ Luton Town, the pressure has been building on Hodgson and Steve Cooper has reportedly been earmarked as a potential replacement for the 76-year-old.
Relegation could be a real possibility with the South London side eight points clear of relegation but with Everton recording a win over Cooper’s Forest, the pressure is building.
Palace after Cooper
According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Palace are definite admirers of Cooper and could be ready to move for him if Forest decides a change of manager is needed.
After signing another new contract with the club over the summer, Hodgson has been under increasing pressure at Selhurst Park and there have been calls for the Eagles to consider a change in management.
For Cooper, he has not had the desired second season in the Premier League that he would have liked and the decision-makers at the East Midlands club are considering a change to try and steady the ship.
Palace have suffered four defeats from their last five Premier League outings and Cooper looks to be in the club’s thinking with West Ham also reportedly keen on the Englishman, according to the same report.
Cooper’s struggles
As mentioned, Forest have not had a great start to the season as they sit 15th in the league having won just 3 times in 14 Premier League games.
Cooper, however, is a brilliant manager and he could be the exact type of project manager that Palace need and Steve Parish would surely be willing to give the former Swansea City manager enough time to turn things around. at Selhurst Park.
A change of manager may be the way forward for the Eagles and Cooper could be the ideal manager to arrest the slide and Palace’s lack of goals.
