Crystal Palace have now seen yet another bid rejected as Dougie Freedman aims to spend the Michael Olise money.
The Eagles have already had a £12.6m offer rebuffed by Sporting CP for Marcus Edwards.
Crystal Palace then saw a bid for Arsenal No.10 Emile Smith Rowe turned down.
Now, another offer has been unsuccessful…
Crystal Palace see Ismaila Sarr bid rejected
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Marseille have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr.
Alan Nixon claimed on Sunday that Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Selhurst Park – was flying out to France to hold talks with the Senegal international, and those discussions seemingly encouraged the Glaswegian enough to bid.
However, the opening offer – which remains undisclosed – was rebuffed by Marseille, although talks are continuing between Crystal Palace and the French giants, with Sarr keen on a return to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old racked up 50 Premier League appearances at Watford before making a £15m move to Marseille in July 2023.
Romano wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Crystal Palace want Ismaila Sarr, talks taking place but Olympique Marseille have rejected their opening proposal. Negotiations still ongoing between the clubs with Sarr keen on Premier League return, but new proposal needed to get it done.”

Interestingly, Sarr has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo – of all players.
It was Mady Touré – who worked with the Crystal Palace target at the Génération Foot academy in Dakar – who made the claim while also tipping him to win the Ballon d’Or one day, telling the Guardian: “Ismaila and Sadio (Mane) don’t have the same style. What I can say is that Ismaila is a little like Cristiano Ronaldo.
“They have quite a similar way of playing. I said Sadio would blow up in England and I can tell you that Ismaila will do the same. He will even win a Ballon d’Or too. He is fast, powerful and now that he has his bearings. I think he is well set to become one of the best players in England and the world.”
Sarr is contracted to Marseille until July 2028, so it may require a fairly large bid to sign him.

However, Freedman has wanted the Senegalese forward at Selhurst Park for six years – according to the aforementioned Nixon – so we are confident that Crystal Palace will do all it takes to finally land Sarr this summer.
