Crystal Palace are now expected to reopen talks with Steve Cooper at some stage after his departure from Nottingham Forest.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
So, what is the latest on Steve Cooper and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Latest on Steve Cooper
Well, it is said that Steve Parish actually interviewed the 44-year-old while he was still in charge of Nottingham Forest last summer.
Eventually, Cooper stayed at the City Ground and Roy Hodgson was handed a new 12-month contract.
Now – however – the Evening Standard believe Parish will reopen talks with the Welshman at some point after he received his P45 at Nottingham Forest.
Hodgson is expected to depart Selhurst Park at the end of the season, so a replacement needs to be lined up.

The Evening Standard do not believe Cooper is being considered to take over from the 76-year-old this season, with any potential appointment more likely to happen in the summer.
However, Hodgson’s job is far from secure after a run of just one win in ten Premier League outings, so it is not unrealistic to think the Pontypridd-born tactician could take the reins in SE25 this season.
Steve Cooper is surely open to joining Crystal Palace
In our view, Cooper is presumably open minded about taking over from Hodgson.
If the Welshman had no interest in Crystal Palace, he surely wouldn’t have spoken to Parish while still in his role at Nottingham Forest.

Cooper also boasts a strong relationship with Marc Guehi – one of the captains at Selhurst Park – which could tempt him towards SE25, having coached the Crystal Palace No.6 at Swansea and also in the England U17 ranks.
At this moment in time, it feels highly likely that Cooper will replace Hodgson – the only uncertainty, in our view at least, is when it will happen.
