Crystal Palace are now set to make an improved offer to sign a replacement for Michael Olise.
Dougie Freedman has already failed with an opening bid for the player in question – but is clearly determined to bring his target to Selhurst Park.
So, who are Crystal Palace now ready to make an improved bid to sign? Let’s take a look…
Crystal Palace preparing new Marcus Edwards bid
A story from A Bola in Portugal now states that Crystal Palace are ready to submit a new offer for Sporting CP No.10 Marcus Edwards.
It comes after another Portuguese news outlet in Record recently claimed that Freedman saw a €15m (£12.6m) offer rejected for the Englishman.
A Bola believe Sporting CP are refusing to sell Edwards for less than €20m (£16.8m) this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr also keen to sign the 25-year-old.
However, the man from Enfield – who Tottenham sold in 2019 – is prioritising a move back to the Premier League, so Crystal Palace are in pole position.

Interestingly, A Bola add that Ruben Amorim is already searching for options to replace Edwards in Lisbon, with young talents Geovany Quenda, Afonso Moreira and Rafael Nel being considered internally as options to step up.
Perfect Michael Olise replacement
In our view, Edwards – or Juventus wonderkid Matias Soule – would be the perfect Olise replacement.
We are a big believer in a side having balance, and Oliver Glasner hit the nail on the head as Ebere Eze cut inside from the left on his stronger right foot last season, with Olise mirroring that on his left foot from the right flank.

What is crucial about Edwards – and Soule – is that they are also left footed wingers who cut inside from the right, so we would be pleased to see either the Londoner or the Argentine arrive in SE25 to replace the France U21 international this summer.
