Rumours are suggesting that Crystal Palace are looking to tie Eberechi Eze down to a new deal amidst Manchester City’s interest.

Despite suffering an injury, Eze is still one of Crystal Palace’s most important players and is sorely missed at the moment.

Eze signed for the Eagles in 2020 and has made quite the impression since his Premier League move.

Earlier this season, Rio Ferdinand described the Palace man as a “huge talent”. This is in spite of his injury worries over recent years.

He signed a five-year deal upon joining and as a result, his current deal is set to expire in 2025. This has seen plenty of interest surround him.

Manchester City interested in Eze

Treble winners City, according to reports, are believed to be ‘monitoring’ his contract situation as they step up interest.

Pep Guardiola’s side were heavily rumoured to be signing Michael Olise and Eze over the summer. The prior signed a new deal and Palace are hopeful the latter will too.

The Cityzens signed Jeremy Doku over the summer after their Olise move fell through. Despite this, they remain hopeful of bringing the former QPR man in.

Contract showdown

Simply put, the Eagles can’t let the England international go on a free transfer.

With Wilfred Zaha departing over the summer, losing Eze in the coming summer could make it difficult to recover.

It appears that Matheus Franca could be making his debut for Palace this week which is very exciting.

To have Eze, Olise and Franca in behind a striker could make the attack one of the most feared in the league.

Tying the attacker down to a new deal has got to be a priority for Roy Hodgson and co-moving forward.

If worst comes to worst, a new one-year contract could be negotiated. Then he could be sold for a fee that suits the club.

With that being said, a new long-term contract needs to be sorted to sort out the Eagles’ attacking future for many years to come.
