Crystal Palace summer signing Matheus Franca made his debut last weekend and it now looks like fans will be able to get another glimpse of him tonight.
The winger will be playing for the U21’s this evening.
So, where is Crystal Palace winger Matheus Franca playing tonight and who will he be playing against? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Franca came on as a substitute in the Premier League in the loss to Newcastle on the weekend. Franca impressed and was statistically one of the better Palace players on the pitch.
Now, only a couple of days later the club have shared the news that Franca is set to play for the U21’s in the Premier League International Cup against AS Monaco this evening.
Palace say that the Brazilian, as well as Naouirou Ahamada and Remi Matthews, are all set to feature in the big match.
The Eagles got to the final of this competition last season. This proves that it is definitely a tournament that they take seriously.

Crystal Palace share interesting Matheus Franca Update
This is a very interesting update on the winger. The 19-year-old has finally been made available after his long-term injury which saw him miss the start of the season.
Palace face Spurs in the Premier League on Friday night. Therefore, the club involving Franca in this U21’s cup game could suggest two things.
If he was involved in the Spurs game as well it would mean that he has played in three matches in six days.
This could mean that manager Roy Hodgson is trying to get him match fit in order to have more minutes in the senior squad or it could mean that he doesn’t want Franca to be heavily involved against Spurs and with this in mind he wants the player to get more match fitness with the U21’s.

Only time will tell us what Hodgson has in mind. Not involving the Brazilian on the weekend against Spurs would be a wrong decision.
Palace need as many options as possible right now, especially in attack. Hopefully the club are just trying to build up his minutes as quickly as possible.
