On Wednesday morning some exciting news emerged from Selhurst Park in the form of a long-term contract for a key player.

Crystal Palace are in an exciting period right now with the arrival of Oliver Glasner being a massive addition for the club.

Above this, the past six months have seen new contracts for both Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, which shows the ambition the club has – even if release clauses mean a departure is still likely.

But now with a truly great manager at the helm, Palace can see a bright future and the latest player to sign along the dotted line has only excited fans more.

The man who’s just been secured to a new deal is Cheick Doucoure who has been out injured all season.

Cheick Doucoure signs new contract

Announced on Wednesday morning, Doucoure was confirmed to have signed a new contract at Palace.

After signing his new deal, Doucoure explained his feelings on the new contract: “I’m really happy to commit my future to Crystal Palace – I’ve enjoyed my time here so much already.

“We have a great group here, and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch as quickly as possible to play in front of the supporters of this fantastic football club.”
