The latest news suggests that Crystal Palace are back scouting in Ireland and they are monitoring the progress of exciting prospect Adam Murphy.

That. is according to TEAMtalk.

So, who is Adam Murphy and what’s the latest on Crystal Palace’s interest in him? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace and Premier League giants Manchester City are among a list of clubs who are scouting Murphy.

The player is currently enjoying his football in Ireland where he has made a breakthrough at current club St. Patricks.

The Eagles do like to scout in Ireland and the club signed Killian Phillips from the Irish league in 2022. He is currently on loan at League One side Wycombe.

It looks like no club is yet to put an offer in for Murphy yet, but if the exciting starlet continues impressing then there will be a long list of clubs who want him.

Murphy is only 18 years-old but he is clearly a key player for his current club St.Patricks. The central midfielder played in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers this season and also managed to score a goal.

His former manager Tim Clancy clearly believes he is a top talent. Speaking about the midfielder earlier this year, Clancy said: “I think he’s an absolutely outstanding talent. From anywhere I’ve played or managed, he’s the best young kid I’ve ever seen, I rate him that highly.

“He’s exceptional, a really good player and again that was his first start since he got a bad injury against Dundalk last year on his 17th birthday. He turned 18 there last week.”

A move to Crystal Palace could benefit all parties. The 18 year-old gets a big move to the Premier League and to a club where he could break into the first team a lot sooner than if he were at Manchester City.

Manager Roy Hodgson will no doubt want more senior signings for the squad, especially when players like Jean-Philippe Mateta are not performing to the standard required.

Despite this, Palace do also need to be looking at the present as well as the future so it is great to see them scouting top future talents.
