Crystal Palace squad numbers 2024/25 as iconic option free for big Oliver Glasner transfer

Take a look at everything you need to know about the Crystal Palace squad numbers for the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Crystal Palace have had plenty of famous kits over the years, with some of their greatest-ever players donning the famous red and blue.

Heading into the new Premier League season, Oliver Glasner will be hopeful that some of his current squad will be able to add their name to that list.

Those superstars can also become synonymous with a shirt number at Selhurst Park, often putting on excellent displays with those on their back.

So with that said, here’s a look at everything you need to know about Crystal Palace’s squad number history and the current options taken for the 2024/25 season.

1 – Dean Henderson

Previously worn by: Sam Johnstone, Jack Butland, Julian Speroni, Nigel Martyn.

The current Crystal Palace number one is Dean Henderson, who has been handed the squad number for the 2024/25 season, taking over from Sam Johnstone.

2 – Joel Ward

Previously worn by: Nathaniel Clyne, Matt Lawrence, Marc Edworthy, Gareth Southgate.

Joel Ward is the longest-serving member of the current Crystal Palace squad, which has seen him possess the number two shirt since 2012.

His 12-year stint in the kit has seen the club captain become synonymous with the number at Selhurst Park.

3 – Tyrick Mitchell

Previously worn by: Patrick van Aanholt, Adrian Mariappa, Clint Hill, Danny Granville.

A Crystal Palace academy graduate, Tyrick Mitchell is the proud owner of the number three shirt at the club, having held it since the 2021/22 season.

4 – Rob Holding

Previously worn by: Luka Milivojevic, Brede Hangeland, Gareth Southgate, Danny Butterfield.

Following his transfer from London rivals Arsenal, Rob Holding landed the number four shirt in the 2023/24 campaign.

5 – Maxence Lacroix

Previously worn by: Joachim Andersen James Tomkins, Patrick McCarthy, Mark Hudson, Kit Symons, Gareth Southgate.

The iconic number five shirt had been handed to Joachim Andersen at the start of the season, but when he moved on it was given to Maxence Lacroix.

6 – Marc Guehi

Previously worn by: Scott Dann, Jose Fonte, Tony Popovic, Neil Ruddock, Chris Coleman.

Since his move from Chelsea in 2021, Marc Guehi has occupied the number six at Crystal Palace which had previously been well associated with Scott Dann.

7 – Ismaila Sarr

Previously worn by: Michael Olise, Max Meyer, Yohan Cabaye, Yannick Bolasie, Darren Ambrose.

Michael Olise was the previous owner of the number seven shirt, having vacated it following his exit to Bayern Munich.

As a result, Ismaila Sarr took the squad number following his switch from Olympique Marseille.

8 – Jefferson Lerma

Previously worn by: Cheikhou Kouyate, Neil Danns, Andy Johnson, Iain Dowie.

Midfielder Jefferson Lerma took the number eight shirt at Crystal Palace following his move from Bournemouth in 2023 and looks set for a long spell in the kit.

9 – Eddie Nketiah

Previously worn by: Jordan Ayew, Alexander Sorloth, Fraizer Campbell, Kevin Phillips, Dougie Freedman, Ian Wright.

Summer signing Eddie Nketiah took the number nine shirt from Jordan Ayew, following on from his switch from Arsenal.

10 – Eberechi Eze

Previously worn by: Andros Townsend, Yannick Bolasie, Owen Garvan, Clinton Morrison, Ian Wright.

The number ten shirt is another option that has had its fair share of brilliant players over the years at Crystal Palace.

Eberechi Eze is just the latest in that list, with the winger owning that number since 2021.

11 – Matheus Franca

Previously worn by: Wilfried Zaha, Tom Ince, Sean Scannell, Victor Moses, Dougie Freedman.

Matheus Franca took the number 11 shirt in 2023, following Wilfried Zaha’s legendary run with the kit from 2014 until 2023.

12 – Daniel Munoz

Previously worn by: Will Hughes, Mamadou Sakho, Alex McCarthy, Alan Pardew.

After his transfer in the 2024 January transfer window, Daniel Munoz took the vacant number 12 shirt as his own for the campaign.

14 – Jean-Philippe Mateta

Jean-Philippe Mateta took the number 14 shirt in 2021 during his loan spell and has kept hold of it since, which could become very famous if he continues the scoring form he ended on in 2023/24.

15 – Jeffrey Schlupp

Previously worn by: Mile Jedinak, Aki Riihilahti, Mikael Forssell.

Jeffrey Schlupp has been the occupant of the number 15 shirt since he joined the club in the 2017/18 season.

Defender Joachim Andersen was the number 16 at Crystal Palace from 2021 until 2024, though it is now vacant.

Midfielder Will Hughes picked up the number 19 shirt in 2022/23, donning the kit on a consistent basis for Palace.

20 – Adam Wharton

Previously worn by: Christian Benteke, Cenk Tosun, Jonny Williams, Edgar Davids.

After his transfer to Crystal Palace in January 2024, Adam Wharton secured the number 20 shirt and quickly became a fan favourite at the club.

41 – Joe Whitworth

Crystal Palace academy goalkeeper Joe Whitworth has the number 41 shirt.

49 – Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
