Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Timo Werner and journalist Dean Jones has given his thoughts on the possible signing.

He believes it would be a good addition.

So, what did journalist Dean Jones say about Timo Werner being linked to Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

It was recently reported by 90min that the German striker was attracting interest from the Premier League and in particular Crystal Palace.

Apparently, the Eagles are interested in Werner, but they would only sign him on a loan move if they made a move in the January transfer window.

Speaking via GiveMeSport about the possible transfer, journalist Dean Jones said: “Palace must consider how far up the table they could expect to push. What is their ceiling for the season?

“I think that will impact who they try to sign now. It could become interesting if they can get Werner on loan or something like that. At this stage, there’s more speculation about Werner and where he could land in the Premier League than any fixed negotiations that might be going on.”

Journalist Dean Jones on Timo Werner to Crystal Palace

It is no shock to hear the journalist say that the Eagles making a move for Werner would make their season more interesting.

He is “extremely fast” and despite some rough patches in his career, the Champions League winner has managed 150 goals over the course of his senior career.

Werner would definitely strengthen the Eagles and it would be an ideal signing to try and help them get more goals this season.

Palace need to get more goals to push them up the table, and 0-0 results against Fulham and Nottingham Forest at Selhurst Park emphasise this.

Palace have been very unlucky with injuries this summer and you feel like they need to strengthen in the summer as their depth haven’t been strong enough.

With just over a month until the January transfer window so hopefully the club are planning who to sign to give them a much-needed boost.
