Crystal Palace are in talks to sign exciting prospect Lewis Hall on a short-term deal this summer transfer window.
That’s according to London News Online journalist Edmund Brack.
So, what’s the latest on Lewis Hall’s possible move to Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Crystal Palace’s squad is currently looking quite depleted. Experienced players like Luka Milivojevic and James McArthur contracts have expired, whilst club legend Wilfried Zaha left on a free transfer.
With Michael Olise also injured, there is definitely some cause for concern at the club. They have made one signing in Jefferson Lerma and now it looks like they could be making another.
Journalist for London News Online Edmund Brack tweeted: “Crystal Palace are working on a deal to sign Lewis Hall on loan from Chelsea. The 18-year-old looks set to put pen to paper on a new deal at Stamford Bridge before heading out for the season.”
The Chelsea academy star broke into the first-team last season. He was one of few shining lights for the club and featured nine times in the Premier League.
Lewis Hall would be a great signing for Crystal Palace
The Eagles definitely need to sign some players permanently, but Lewis Hall would still be a perfect signing for us this summer.
We also need to massively improve the depth of the squad and it looks like for now the budget is tight. With this in mind, picking up someone like Hall would be a great option.
Despite him only being 18, he showed glimpses of quality and his top potential on multiple occasions over last season for Chelsea.
More so, the ‘quality‘ Englishman is very versatile. He could play on the left-wing, in central midfield or as a left-back.
Hall will come trying to prove to fans and also to Chelsea that he can play to a very top level in the Premier League on a consistent basis.
He seems like an ideal option for us. When we have seen young Chelsea talents over the years like Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek having great seasons at Palace, it is exciting to see the club using the loan system to bring another top talent in.
