Daniel Munoz has been away from Crystal Palace recently due to the international break, jetting off with Jefferson Lerma for Colombia.

The South American played 90 minutes in a friendly against Mexico on Sunday – a match Lerma scored in.

That would have been a concern for Crystal Palace fans considering Daniel Munoz has played every single minute of the current campaign bar two – but Oliver Glasner has now received a treat from Nestor Lorenzo.

The Crystal Palace No.2 plays every single game at such a high intensity, which is truly admirable – but also surely unsustainable.

Lorenzo – manager of Colombia – perhaps felt a similar concern, as he fortunately opted to leave Munoz on the bench on Wednesday for a stalemate against Canada.

Amazingly, it was the first time the 29-year-old had been left out despite being available since he was still playing for KRC Genk.

Munoz, who dreams of joining Barcelona, was benched for a Jupiler Pro League clash against KV Mechelen, which KRC Genk won 4-0 as the Colombian watched from the dugout.

That was remarkably 724 days ago – almost two years to be exact – showing just how fit the Crystal Palace fan favourite really is.

The Eagles – who admire Charlie Cresswell – now face four games across all competitions before November even begins, as the fixture list starts to become congested.

Had Munoz played against Canada, he might have needed a rest in one of these four outings, but the fact he was able to spend 90 minutes relaxing on the bench for Colombia should ensure Glasner is able to use his electric wing-back in every game this month instead.

Not only that, but the man born in Amalfi often makes key contributions for the Eagles, so he is desperately needed ahead of the tricky tests against tough opponents in Bournemouth, Larnaca, Arsenal and Liverpool.
