Crystal Palace today confirmed the signing of Colombian right-back Daniel Munoz from Belgian side Genk.
The club has finally spent money on a right-back for the first time in over 10 years, since Jack Hobbs arrived from Huddersfield.
Many have criticised both Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne this season, and a younger, more dynamic option was clearly needed. Munoz looks to be exactly that, and fans are excited to see the 27-year-old in action.

Speaking to club media following his arrival, Munoz highlighted how he could help raise the technical level of the Crystal Palace team.
“As a player, I think that I am an intelligent, technical and fast player,” he stated.
“I think that’s what has characterised me, but I think that my greatest virtue is discipline, work and my dedication.
“What started after game, training after training, I think I will always give my best for those colours, the club and my teammates.”
Munoz’s comments are very promising
Early impressions of Munoz are that he will add speed and strong ability on the ball to Palace’s back line, and both Ward and Clyne have heavily struggled in both aspects.
Munoz also seems like the type of character who can quickly become a fan favourite at Selhurst Park. If he brings a bit of grit and his admitted determination with him, he will quickly get the fans onside even he takes some time to settle overall.
He is coming into a struggling side who have been desperate for a right-back for a long time, and he can help improve both the attacking dynamics of the side, as well as adding speed to deal with wingers in the back line.
Fans will be eager to see him come into the team as soon as possible, and if he ends up performing well, he could be Palace’s main right-back for the next few seasons.
