Against Liverpool, there were multiple standout players for Crystal Palace which led to the 1-0 victory, now data shows two who shined.

Oliver Glasner admitted he was proud to be the manager of his team after they defeated Liverpool over the weekend.

Crystal Palace played the best game of the season and one which shows that Glasner’s changes are beginning to take shape with an impressive display both on and off the pitch.

A massive victory which has all but secured safety this season, but it wasn’t easy.

Palace spent most of the game under pressure, and therefore the defenders and Dean Henderson had to be on top form.

Now, data has proven just how well two players did in one area against Liverpool.

Data shows where Munoz and Wharton shined vs Liverpool

Against Liverpool, Palace defenders put their bodies on the line in order to keep a clean sheet and leave Anfield with all three points.

Now according to The Other 14 on X, there are two Palace players ranked in the top three this season for most combined tackles and interceptions during the weekend.

Joao Palhinha (Fulham)9211
Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace) 617
Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) 617
Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)246
Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United)426
Jefferson Lerma (Crystal Palace)246

From the table, we can see both winter signings Adam Wharton and Daniel Munoz are joint with seven combined this past weekend which is joint second-best in the league.

Also in the top six is Jefferson Lerma who had just one less than his two teammates, with Will Hughes also among the top performers with five combined.

Palace could be set for an impressive end to the season

While around this time in any campaign, most teams in mid-table begin to tail off, Palace are doing the opposite.

Getting better week on week with Glasner, this win over Liverpool was the deciding game in which it all came together.

With some transfer movements expected this summer, every player is playing for their position and is keen to show Glasner that they need to be his first choice.

Therefore, the teams coming up such as West Ham, best beware of the new Palace who won’t be a pushover and could very well derail their European football hunt.
