Crystal Palace ran Manchester City closer than many expected this past Saturday, in the game one player stood out and led the league in one area.
Oliver Glasner wasn’t thrilled after his side were beaten 4-2 by Manchester City, but for all the right reasons.
Crystal Palace were very competitive and even better than the treble holders for much of the game.
Arguably the game was lost based on a 20-minute spell which saw City end up leading 4-1.
But Odsonne Edouard got another back late on which was deserved as signs of Glasner’s philosophy are beginning to show.
Now, one player’s performance in the game has been highlighted.

Against Man City, Dean Henderson and Jean-Philippe Mateta were probably the two standout performers due to their direct interventions in the game.
But now one man has been shown to have led the entire Premier League this past weekend with combined tackles and interceptions, according to TheOther14 on X.

With Mitchell leading the way, there were actually two of his teammates also on the list from TheOther14.
Will Hughes had the seventh most, with five tackles and two assists, enough to have him lever with both Sander Berge and Ruben Dias in the top four.
Further down the list in 15th was Mitchell’s wing-back partner Daniel Munoz who had three tackles and three interceptions.
Impressive from all three, although against City, defensive numbers are almost expected to be elevated.
