Pundit Rio Ferdinand piled the praise on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi when talking about England defenders.

The Crystal Palace player was selected by Gareth Southgate for the recent England squad. He also played the full match in England’s 1-1 draw with Ukraine last weekend.
Speaking on his FIVES YouTube channel, Ferdinand was speaking about the defenders playing for England.
Ferdinand said: “John Stones, who’s the best England centre-half around at the moment is injured. Marc Guehi comes in. He just seemed to be able to step up at every level he gets asked to step up to. He steps up comfortably.”
It is great to see Guehi receive so much praise, especially when it is from a former centre-back like Ferdinand who has won it all in his playing days.

The English defender is one who Crystal Palace fans have been raving about ever since he joined the club in 2021.
We love the impact he has made and he has arguably been one of the best centre-backs to play for us since the club got promoted back to the Premier League.
With the 23 year-old being a leader who has captained the Eagles and putting in top performances, it was no shock to see him start for England.
Now, he is starting to receive even more praise and this is great to see. Guehi clearly has a high-ceiling and it is great imagining him reaching his top potential.
The ‘brilliant‘ defender is one who no doubt will be attracting a lot of interest from other clubs. With him featuring for England on a consistent basis, his price will no doubt be even more and this puts Palace in a great position.
No doubt the praise will keep on coming for the player and Palace fans will be hoping that they can keep him for many years.
