Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Crystal Palace look to have picked up a very exciting prospect as recent news has claimed that they have agreed a fee for Matheus Franca.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano.
So, what’s the latest around the possible signing of Franca? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
It has been quite quiet for Crystal Palace in terms of incomings. So far the only signing has been Jefferson Lerma, and that was back in June.
Meanwhile club legend Wilfried Zaha left Palace to join Turkish side Galatasaray. It looks like this may have caused a reaction from Palace as we are now making some moves in the transfer market.
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano brought this exciting update. He said: “Crystal Palace are set to sign Brazilian talent Matheus França! Documents are being exchanged between clubs — here we go CPFC Understand Flamengo will receive €20m fixed fee plus €10m in add-ons.”
The 19 year-old Brazilian is highly-rated and the Eagles look close to making our first attacking signing of the summer.
Matheus Franca looks a very exciting signing
We have a lot of exciting young players at the club. Eberechi Eze, Cheick Doucoure, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi are all top Premier League talents.
It looks like we have now found another talented prospect who matches the profile of signings we have been mainly making over the last couple of seasons.
Franca is only 19 years-old, but the ‘fantastic‘ player can definitely have an impact at the club next season. The attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wing, will add a new dynamic to Palace.
Despite how highly-rated he is, it would be surprising to see him become a consistent starter for the time being. To reportedly spend around £26million on him shows that the club believe he’s a top player.
Franca no doubt looks an exciting signing, but we cannot expect the young prospect to be the solution to our attacking problems. He could definitely become essential in the future, but it would be great if we add another attacking signing to help integrate the Brazilian to the Premier League slowly.
Lots of players struggle in their first season of top-flight English football, so it is essential to make sure we do not rush him to the division.
