John Textor has opened up on his views of the current Premier League PSR debates and explained why it’s impacting Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace has by-in-large been conservative in recent transfer windows and with the Premier League enforcing PSR breaches, it may have been a wise move.
That being said this summer should be different with a healthy balance and potentially huge sales on the way.
But this hasn’t stopped current Palace co-owner John Textor from voicing his anger toward the Premier League for the rules.

FFP restrictions have been the subject of heated debate in the Premier League this season. Now Textor has given his verdict and voiced his disgust over the current regulations while speaking to The Times.
“If you have a billion pounds of cash and you’re sustainable — more sustainable than most clubs in the league — but you’re not allowed to spend this, everybody should be saying this, it doesn’t make sense
“We have got three billionaires in our ownership group, maybe more. We’re not allowed to spend at the level of teams that are in the top six. Josh Harris has no trouble with money, he just bought an NFL team [the Washington Commanders], he owns the [Philadelphia] 76ers [basketball team]. But Steve [Parish, co-owner and chairman] is not allowed to go out and spend that kind of money, he gets docked points and sent to the second division.
“I’m just saying you cannot have a rule that says somebody who has the money is not allowed to spend it because their club isn’t big enough. Yet how do you get big ever?”
Palace were just right to take it easy
While it’s frustrating to see a lack of investment, the decision may have been right because it has helped Palace stay safe from any financial breaches.
Also spending under Roy Hodgson would likely have been a waste anyway, so now with Oliver Glasner in charge, the money is needed to invest in the squad.
That being said, Textor has a point and the current rules are completely wrong for the league.
