Crystal Palace are the talk of the Premier League after a remarkable victory over Liverpool.

A late goal from Eddie Nketiah took Crystal Palace up to second in the Premier League on Saturday and ensured the unbeaten run stretched to an astounding 18 games – a streak the Selhurst Park faithful have not seen since 1969.

We have since slipped to third after Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-1 on Sunday.

As Oliver Glasner continues his outstanding work in south London, Jurgen Klopp has now commented on the incredible developments in SE25.

Jurgen Klopp says Oliver Glasner has worked “miracles” at Crystal Palace

Speaking to The Athletic in an exclusive interview, the German was asked about the efforts of Glasner at Crystal Palace and also Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth, who are sixth despite losing Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi in the summer.

Klopp said: “Wow, they are doing miracles. A lot of things change. I don’t have an opinion about that, really (Bournemouth and Crystal Palace’s style of play).

“The football I watch is mainly Red Bull teams. Do I sit there and say, what is football? How is it developing right now? That’s not really what I’m doing.”

Klopp largely got the better of Crystal Palace during his time in charge of Liverpool, winning 13 of his 18 meetings against the Eagles, scoring 41 goals and conceding just 16.

He did – however – lose his one and only clash against Glasner.

Arne Slot has since struggled to outwit the Austrian too, winning just one of his four meetings against Crystal Palace – who have hired Matt Hobbs – since replacing Klopp in June 2024.

RB Leipzig admire Oliver Glasner

Klopp is currently Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, and is a huge admirer of the 51-year-old.

Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has previously informed We Are Palace that Klopp considered Glasner when looking to replace Marco Rose.

Ole Werner has since been appointed at RB Leipzig but was only handed a two-year deal, which suggests there are still eyes on the Crystal Palace boss, who sees his own contract expire in June 2026.

We Are Palace understand the aforementioned Hobbs wants to have Glasner signed to a new deal before January begins.

Hopefully, Klopp describing Glasner as a miraculous coach is not a way of the 58-year-old tapping him up.
