Well, the Austrian has already made a slight adjustment to the schedule at Copers Cope – changing when players get a day off – and there has now been another amendment.
Throughout the 2023/24 campaign so far, the 53-year-old Kiely has been in charge of set pieces along with his main role as a goalkeeping coach.
Initially, that seemed like a bit of a cheap option and a way for Steve Parish to avoid spending money on a specialist – that has since been reinforced by the fact we’ve taken 195 corners so far this season, failing to score a single one.
Now, however – according to The Athletic – Glasner has taken Kiely off set piece duty, with Michael Angerschmid and Ronald Brunmayr handed the responsibility.
The duo are described as dedicated coaches in this area, so hopefully, we will see a notable improvement in efficiency when it comes to scoring from dead ball situations.

It is incredibly pleasing to see Glasner make a swift change in the set piece department.
Dead ball situations are a key part of football, and games can be won or lost depending on how well prepared a side is for them, both defensively and in an attacking sense.
As a result, it has been hugely frustrating to see this part of the game neglected at Crystal Palace, although Glasner is no fool, and clearly knows the value in getting them right.
Hopefully, with Angerschmid and Brunmayr focusing on the problem, Crystal Palace can become a force from set piece situations.
