This summer, as we are all expecting, will be the busiest in years for Crystal Palace, with Dougie Freedman set to have to work overtime.
This is because appointing a manager like Oliver Glasner means the club will likely have to back him as he wouldn’t have taken the job if he hadn’t made promises of investment.
Therefore, all the rumours currently flying around probably hold some weight with some positions known to be a priority for the Austrian.
Now, it has been reported that Glasner has actually identified where he wants to strengthen this summer ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2024-25 season.

We all know Glasner will want to shake up his team this summer, and now a report by the Evening Standard has suggested that the manager has chosen where he wants to strengthen.
“But there could be plenty of incomings at Palace too, with Glasner encouraged by recent performances and results but still of the opinion that positions such as centre-back must be strengthened.”
However, centre-back isn’t the only position he wants to strengthen as the report continued to explain.
“The Eagles are also hoping to address the left wing-back position, where there is no understudy to Tyrick Mitchell.”
With so much work to do for Palace this summer, keeping a few players whose contracts are expiring could allow focus to remain on priority positions.

Jeffrey Schlupp set to have Crystal Palace contract extended
According to the same report, after Will Hughes got a contract extension of a year, Jeffrey Schlupp is set to follow in his footsteps.
The report writes that the Eagles are expected to trigger a one-year additional extension clause in his contract before it expires in June.
Before Glasner’s arrival, Schlupp looked likely to be leaving this summer but he’s looked better under the Austrian.
His highest moment of course came against Fulham when he scored from range with a phenomenal strike.
