Reports suggest that Crystal Palace could lose one their key players in Joachim Andersen with Newcastle United seriously interested.

According to iNews, Newcastle are wrestling with Financial Fair Play restrictions this summer transfer window. Despite this, they are still looking to sign some players in order to strengthen the squad.
One of their transfer targets is apparently Crystal Palace star Joachim Andersen. The report goes on to say that Newcastle have “prioritised a move” in order to sign him.
From the report, it sounds like the Magpies are yet to bid for the Danish defender. Despite this, Palace will no doubt will be very worried as they could lose one of their top assets.
Crystal Palace need to keep hold of Andersen
The “excellent” defender has been a key influence for the Eagles since he signed from Fulham in the summer of 2021.
Not only is he good at defending but he has added another level to the Eagles as he is great at speeding up attacks with long-range passes.
Palace have been linked with a move for central defender Perr Schuurs, and now, with clubs circling for Andersen, it makes sense for them to be interested in a player in their strongest position. Schuurs seems like a suitable replacement if Palace lose Andersen.
When a club with Champions League football comes in to try and sign our players, it is always hard to try and keep them. Hopefully Palace place a big valuation on the defender.
If not, there will also be hopes that they can convince the player to stay at the club for another season to try and achieve a top-half finish.
