SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
You may have heard that Crystal Palace face a mammoth task this summer, as 16 players find themselves out of contract.
Transfermarkt provides a clear list of these men, and it really will be tough for the Eagles to decide who should stay, and who should go.
However, it looks like Roy Hodgson, Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman have made a decision on one of these players.
The Evening Standard published an exciting story earlier today, which stated that we’re in talks with Juventus centre-back Radu Drăgușin.
Putting that interesting news aside for a moment, the Evening Standard added that we’ve opened talks with Scott Dann over a contract extension.
The man who Tony Pulis signed from Blackburn for £2.6 million has looked shaky at times this season, most notably in the recent 3-0 embarrassment against Burnley where he was at fault for the first goal.
However, he is arguably a club icon, so it makes sense that we’ve decided to open talks with him over an extension.
The 34-year-old has made 178 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 16 goals – he was unlucky not to receive at least one England cap during his prime years in SE25.
He may be past his best now, but if we can sign one or two Under-25 centre-backs this summer, it would be sensible to keep Dann and his experience around the place.
Keep your eyes peeled – it will be interesting to see who Parish, Freedman and Hodgson decide to open talks with next…
