An interesting update has emerged involving Steve Cooper amid doubts over Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.
It was talkSPORT who provided the information.
So, what is the latest on Steve Cooper as Roy Hodgson faces the sack at Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Steve Cooper ready for managerial return
Well, the 44-year-old has been unemployed since receiving his P45 at Nottingham Forest on 19th December.
Now, however – according to talkSPORT – Cooper is ready to make a return to the dugout, and is keen to accept the earliest opportunity to do so.
TalkSPORT add that Steve Parish is seriously considering a change after Hodgson oversaw just two wins from Crystal Palace’s last 12 games across all competitions.

It is also said that the Crystal Palace Chairman has held a long standing admiration for Cooper, so the Welshman seems likely to be contacted if the Eagles decide a change is needed.
The Pontypridd-born tactician has overseen 12 wins from 55 Premier League games in management, drawing 16 and losing 27.
Crystal Palace may turn to Julen Lopetegui instead
In our view, Cooper seems the most likely manager to replace Hodgson – although Julen Lopetegui could be contacted instead.
The Guardian recently claimed that the Welshman and the Spaniard are the two likeliest candidates to replace the struggling 76-year-old.
Therefore, if Cooper shows no interest in taking over from Hodgson for whatever reason, the 57-year-old could be hired instead.

Interestingly, Lopetegui was spotted at Selhurst Park earlier this season, so his appointment simply cannot be ruled out.
The Spaniard has been unemployed since leaving Wolves just days before the start of the season, but – like Cooper – is believed to be keen on a swift return to management.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as defeat to Sheffield United on Tuesday could signal the end for Hodgson at Crystal Palace.
