Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Roy Hodgson has been speaking ahead of Crystal Palace’s first match of the season and he has provided a positive injury update on one player.
He was speaking in his press conference earlier today.
So which injured Crystal Palace star looks to be fit to play on the weekend? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
We have a few players injured ahead of the first Premier League game of the season. Will Hughes, Michael Olise and Tyrick Mitchell are all key players who are doubts.
Now though, fans of the Eagles can breathe a sigh of relief as Hodgson provided a positive injury update on left-back Tyrick Mitchell.
Journalist for The Athletic Matt Woosnam shared this update from the Palace manager, who spoke out at his press conference.
The journalist tweeted: “Tyrick Mitchell available for tomorrow’s game against Sheffield United says Roy Hodgson. Had a quad injury but has trained after treatment.”
Mitchell being available is a huge boost for Crystal Palace
There is no denying that Mitchell being available for selection ahead of the game away to Sheffield United this weekend is huge news.
The ‘brilliant‘ defender is currently the only natural left-back we have at the club. Whilst he has been injured, we have seen veteran right-back Nathaniel Clyne play at left-back.
Mitchell is our best left-back so to have him back for the start of the season is great news. Roy Hodgson will no doubt be buzzing that he is available.
With the Eagles facing a newly promoted side away from home, it is going to be tough. Therefore it is key to have the best starting team possible.
Palace need to start the season well or there could be big issues as to where they want to be come the end of the season.
They wanted to challenge top half but the only way they can do that is if they win these tricky matches that they have struggled with in the past.
