Crystal Palace’s struggles continued on Saturday, being held to a 2-2 draw against Wolves at the Molineux.

Oliver Glasner was left with his head in his hands at various points on Saturday evening as he watched his team squander several chances and give away silly conceded goals.

VAR also proved frustrating for Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Glasner believing Craig Dawson should have seen red – while there was also a controversial disallowed goal.

In the game, Eddie Nketiah was slammed by fans as he and Ismaila Sarr struggled – with Sarr particularly pretty bad in front of goal.

However, pundit Tony Cascarino has actually picked out Eberechi Eze for criticism after his struggles this season to date.

Tony Cascarino admits Eberechi Eze is costing the Eagles

This season has seen goals the biggest problem for Crystal Palace, with Eze missing his fair share of big chances.

The Eagles’ attacking play has had some fundamental issues this season which Eze has been at the centre of, such as when he missed a handful of chances against Manchester United – now he’s been criticised.

Writing in his column for The Times, Cascarino has admitted that Eagles No.10 Eze is now costing Crystal Palace.

“Their other issue is that Eberechi Eze is world-class at almost everything except finishing and that is a real problem as so many chances seem to fall to him.”

Eze may have been critiqued for being a real problem, but Cascarino also had things to say about Nketiah.

“As for Eddie Nketiah, no goals and no assists this season in the league is not the sort of return they were looking for when they signed him.”

Crystal Palace have got ‘real issues’

Sitting 17th in the league, there could be a real concern over the Eagles’ relegation chances, especially with some tricky games to come in the next five.

Cascarino outlined these problems in the same article.

“They’ve got real issues. Yes they lost some real quality this summer with Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen going, and they were always going to be hard to replace, but the squad that Oliver Glasner has now looks paper thin.

“Look at the bench on Saturday against Wolves. That’s not a Premier League bench. Simple as.”

Finally, Cascarino also had harsh words for Marc Guehi.

“Key man Marc Guehi — I’m not seeing the guy who played so well for England this summer. He’s been fine but at the Euros, he was excellent and dominant, that’s what Palace need. A leader. Someone who everyone else looks up to.”
