Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Crystal Palace are battling to keep hold of their star talent this summer transfer window and now reports are suggesting that Cheick Doucoure is the subject of heavy interest.
That’s according to The Independent.
So, what’s the latest on the future of Doucoure? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
According to The Independent, Liverpool are now on the look out for a defensive midfielder after missing out on both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.
This has led them to turn their attention to Crystal Palace’s Doucoure. The report goes on to say that Liverpool are ‘stepping up their efforts’ to sign the 23 year-old.
Apparently, Doucoure’s final price could be around £60million. Despite this, Palace are wary as they have lost a fair few players this summer.
The midfielder is apparently keen on a move to Anfield and due to this, personal terms between the player and Liverpool should not be an issue.
Crystal Palace cannot afford to lose too many players this summer
The Eagles have already seen key players like Wilfried Zaha, James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic leave this summer transfer window for various reasons.
Other reports have also suggested that Michael Olise could be heading on his way to Premier League side Chelsea this summer.
Palace should know that Liverpool are desperate for a defensive midfielder after their failed exploits to sign one so far this summer.
Due to this, and due to the fact that Doucoure is only 23 years-old with four years left on his contract, we should only be accepting an astronomical amount closer to £100million for the key player.
He is essential in the middle of the pitch and we have already lost some top players. The season has already started and it doesn’t give us long to find a replacement. He is “very influential” in this Palace team and is no doubt a key player.
Hopefully the Eagles can manage to hold onto Doucoure this summer transfer window. If not, they could be more involved in the relegation battle than the battle for top 10.
