Eddie Nketiah made a comment about Newcastle attempting to sign Marc Guehi during his first day at Crystal Palace – following a £25m move from Arsenal.
The England international should have absolutely no trouble settling in at Selhurst Park whatsoever.
Nketiah – who Ebere Eze helped lure to Crystal Palace – could be seen laughing with the man from Greenwich, a close friend, throughout the video, while the striker also reunited with Guehi, who he knows well from their time in the Chelsea academy.

By the looks of it, Crystal Palace actually had Nketiah all signed and in training by Wednesday 28th August in the video – judging by the date on a screen in the background, and also the fact the man from Lewisham congratulates some of his new teammates on their performance “yesterday” against Norwich.
Therefore, Crystal Palace still had 48 hours to fend Newcastle away from Guehi at the time of this footage emerging.
Nketiah – however – clearly saw the funny side of the transfer saga, as Crystal Palace cameras picked the striker up saying: “Can somebody put him in chains?”
Later on in the video, the new Crystal Palace No.9 also jokingly puts his hands together as if he’d been handcuffed, before gesturing towards Guehi.
Clearly, Nketiah has a great sense of humour, and he should settle nicely amongst a strong south London contingent in Eze, Guehi, Trevoh Chalobah and Nathaniel Clyne.
Crystal Palace have a new bromance
Eze and Michael Olise were evidently very close during their time at Selhurst Park, although some fans worried that the 26-year-old may get a bit lonely after the France U23 international moved to Bayern Munich.
However, Nketiah looks more than capable of filling the void.
The 25-year-old could also be heard winding Eze up about his strike in the 4-0 win against Norwich, jibing “that wasn’t your goal yesterday” due to the fact it took several deflections, before the pair burst into laughter.
Nketiah will do well to replace Olise’s attacking brilliance, but in terms of squad morale, he looks to be fitting in nicely.
