A story from the Telegraph now claims that the £18m Crystal Palace defender is set to replace Ezri Konsa and take his place in the starting XI back for Wednesday’s UEFA Euro 2024 semi-final against the Netherlands.
It is said that Southgate has been preparing to face Ronald Koeman’s side with Guehi in his plans.
Therefore, Konsa is expected to drop back to the bench, and the 4-2-3-1 formation we witnessed in the opening four games of UEFA Euro 2024 is set to be reintroduced.
Southgate had previously switched to a 3-4-2-1 for the clash against Switzerland to deal with the loss of Guehi.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph add that Kieran Trippier is expected to keep his place on the left, with Luke Shaw starting on the bench despite an impressive cameo against the Swiss.

It feels strange to write, but an England squad containing four Crystal Palace players is just two games away from European glory.
Of course, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson are yet to play a second of football in Germany, although Ebere Eze and Guehi are much more involved, and find themselves on the brink of writing themselves into English football folklore.
